Will there be any New Years Eve food bargains?

I have never looked for food bargains but was looking at a post about reductions on Christmas Eve, so wondered....

Is it worth popping out to see what's around on New Years Eve? Any experience of last year? I have a waitrose M & S and sainsburys nearby.

Any advice appreciated.

  • I would imagine, but am not sure, that there will be the usual party bargains such as party food and drink. However I gather it might boil down to if that shop is open or closed on New Year's Day. My local supermarkets are open on January 1st so it might also just be the usual best before date reductions. However I am not certain and hopefully others will reply with more knowledge or certainty.
  • I'd agree with the above poster. My local is closed but all of the party food I saw the other day was dated first week of Jan (most around the 4th) so I'm not expecting reductions tomorrow. I may pop in though, just because I'm hoping it will be a bit quieter with everyone else already on their way out for the evening.
  • Thanks. I have checked. Most are shut Ny day so I will pop out and see if there are any bargains.
  • Got some dips, brandy cream and Maderia cake from Asda today.
