Can I make retrospective claims?

Hello.
I'm quite new to self employment, setting up 3 years ago.
January last year I bought a new laptop, the receipt for which I filed away with my other receipts for that month.
When I did my books, the receipts couldn't be found anywhere, so I didn't make any claim for them.
I've now found the envelope with them all in down the back of my bookcase.
Does anyone know if I can make a claim for them in the current tax year, despite them being from January 2006?
Thank you.

Simple - just send a correcting tax return in which does include those figures. You have until 31/1/08 to "correct" your 2005/6 tax return, so plenty of time. Just remember to make a note in the "additional information" box of the differences between the new tax return and the old, and make sure everything else is put on the new tax return as it was on the original.0

You don't need to send in a whole new return. YOu just need to send in a letter stating that you wish to amende the entries on your 2005-06 tax return.
State which boxes you want to amend, and the revised or new figure that you want to go in that box, and the necessary changes will be made.0
