Let's be honest.
People always moan they are hard up anyway. I do it.
It's a British thing.
I phoned a friend of mine in UK yesterday. He said his business was quiet and it was hard going.
Next minute he's telling me about his new Volvo, 2nd home in France and how he had to pay his sons car insurance 3000 quid.
If times ever got really tough. Homeowners have plenty of meat on the bone before it ever came to moving out of their house.
I bet most homeowners spend at least 50 quid a week just going down the town to 'have a look' Saturday or Sunday when they are bored. I know I used to.
The HPC waiting game is just so flawed.
I paid 65 grand for my rental place, spent 35 grand doing it up. Now it's really nice.
It was valued at 190K and my tenant recently offered me 180k.
If the Halifax or any other index goes up or down a few %%%.
Why is that going to worry me? My rent doesn't go down or up. Stays the same.
If prices dropped 50% I would still have money in the place. I bet most homeowners on here are in same or better situation.
Prices will be rising soon. Every %%% upwards is more money for me when it comes for time to sell. Bring it on.
I never missed a payment or was ever in trouble when rates were 6%. I could afford it if they went back to that without any problems.
This low rates is bonus time. New car, bit of money left over to overpay.
If there was ever a mass of homeowners about to lose their homes the government would step in and help.
Do you get it now?
There will never be a house price crash. We love Sarah O Grady0
