Please Help Cash Genie Victim Here

Hi, im new to this but would appreciate any help/advice.
I will try to be as honest as possible.

Basically i took out a £200 cash genie loan on the basis i would roll it over for 1 month and then repay in full in month 2. I got the loan out 6 days before payday.
When payday arrived i made sure there was enough money in my account to pay the rollover but no more, cash genie tried taking a full payment of £275 which was obviously declined.
Then the interest and fees started.
When i contacted then to say look i am rolling it over this month and paying back next month they wernt having it.

Basically i started noticing the odd £10 or £20 every few days missing from my account, cash genie was taking it.

In the end i thought ok ill change banks so then at least im in control of what i pay them and i decide when rather than them just taking what they wanted without my knowing.

Anyway all was ok i changed banks had my salary changed to new bank etc and all was fine.
Then in november i noticed £90 missing from account, i phoned the bank they said a company called cash genie had taken it.
I said how. They dont have my bank account details or my debit card details, I also said in the 2 and a halfmonths ive banked with you there have been no credits or debits from cash genie so howcan they start taking money from an account they shouldnt have access to. I was told by the bank to talk to cash genie and the bank said these companies have there ways of taking money.

I have since tried contacting cash genie but have had no response.

Then today i had £65 child tax credits and £20.30 child benefit paid into my account, it was paid in early due to monday being a bank holiday. I have looked on my internet banking and it appears that cash genie have taken the lot.

How have cash genie gotmy new bank details and my new debit card details as i have never told them.
And can they do this, can the bank allow it.

Sorry for long rambling

Have you taken out a payday loan with another company?

Many payday loan companies are part of large organisations. Give your bank details to one part and you're effectively giving them to the others too.

We see here time and time again messages posted by people who have tried to outfox a payday loan provider and got caught out. These companies are very good at what they do.
  • Hi, I did take another payday loan out with my new bank account from Quid 24 LTD, are they part of cash genie. Also i have never given cash genie my new bank account details or debit card details so can they just take payment, and should the bank be allowing payments to be made.
Surly the bank are responsible as no money has ever been paid in by cash genie yet £211 has been taken out. Most of which is benefit money.

As said, if you've taken out a loan with a 'linked' lender then you're essentially giving your bank details to both companies.
If this is the case the bank won't be likely to help as it'll be in the T&Cs of the new loan. You need to find them and read them ASAP.
You need to stop using payday loans to supplement your income, and head over to DFW board for advice on how to deal with the situation and get out of the viscious payday loan circle.

You are spending more than you can afford so you need to get a grip of that, stop taking grubby payday loans and head on down to the DFW board.

They're not going to stop taking money they are owed are they? these people depend on the fact that a few days after you've changed your account, you'll be grubbing around for another of these dreadful things. They are experts in dealing with defaulters and non payers...as you've found out.

How to stop them taking it? pay them back what you owe them or start yet another bank account and DO NOT apply for any more.

  • king elvis no offence but im not. Every penny i recieve is carefully calculated rent/council tax/gas/electric/petrol/car insurance/tv licence/water rates etc...

Me and the wife havnt wasted money or gone out dining or drinking or anything in well over 2 years

We are owed £500 from the council in housing benefit, but like anything trying to get them to hurry up seems to have the oposite effect.
  • So you think its OK to knock one payday loan company whilst borrowing from another? I say good im glad they are getting some of their money back!!!
  • i didnt knock them thats the point. The rollover was not set up for some reason when it should have been. the origonalloan was £200 ive paid back £211
    they still want another £240

There are routes, but first you need to stop using these things. Head on down to the Debt Free Wannbe borad and they'll tell you about things like the CCCS and how to force the payday boys into a payment plan. Good luck.
