Hello all! Thanks for the start, Kjp!
Nice to see you back, Orangefairy! What are your resolutions for this year???
I'll be off for the weekend tomorrow morning, there isn't much doing in Kampala so boy and I are going to take our bikes on their first out of town adventure to Jinja, which is about 2 hrs away and is the source of the nile. Got us accommodation for $30 in a place I've been before and know is half decent and hopefully good ruckus fun, so hopefully will be a good weekend. Will be our first real break as a couple :smileyhea- the trip to Israel to meet his entire extended family (!!!!) earlier in the month didnt really count!
Anyway, today was pretty lazy:- NSD as barely left the house
- leftovers for brekkie and lunch, a friend is having us by for dinner
- bike to dinner, though its raining! Should get me one of those vehicles with a roof things....
- booked the room for tomorrow night
Hope everyone has a fab NYE, I'll see you all in the new year!:TMortgage free by 30:eek:: £28,000/£100,000

Payday - yay! So far I have:
- paid £250 off debt
- checked online banking x3 (current account, credit card and ISA)
- Paid off the Christmas credit card balance in full (almost £500 - ouch!)
- all meals from stores
- paid OH the £30 I owed him
I'm having a very MSE day, enforced by the fact our boiler has broken down (thankfully it's a rented property, so no nasty bill for us). So I've showered at the gym and can't have heating on as it doesn't work. The BG men are here now but it doesn't look like they can get the spare part they need until at least Tuesday :-( At least the gas bill should be cheaper this month!0 -
Afternoon all.
Today I have/will:
Washed laundry on low temp
Hung up on airers
Food from stores
Ordered bargain shoes in Clarks sale for DS1 & DS2
Ordered school trousers in M&S sale (used my gift card - so no money spent!) :j
Check bank balance
Bread in BM
All to bed on time tonight so heating can go off earlier! :rotfl:
That's all.

Also - I'm so inspired to hear of others making presents! What was the game you made for your brother and how did you do it?!
As KJP mentioned- i use My Fitness Pal. It is easy to use on the go. You can record everything you eat and the exercise you do. I want to set up a completely new account and start afresh. I did really well on the build up to my wedding last year and now i have gone a little mad on crappy foods!
My game for my brother may seem confusing to you. It incorporates lots of our fave cards games with simple games such as rock, paper, scissors, flipping a coin, rolling a dice, cutting a pack of cards. I made family member cards - 25 in total. Each card had the pic of a family member with their strengths listed - sometimes funny things. Like my Nan ALWAYS runs in her stillettos so she had 'Speedy' as a strength
Then i made 50 'Life Problem' cards! These cards had something bad that could happen (lots of silly ideas) and then a list of help cards at the bottom who could help you out of this problem. If you were in possession of one of those family member cards listed then you didn't lose any life points!
So in summary you move around the board (handpainted onto a canvas board) and the aim is to have the most Life Points at the end of the game. You can land on 'pick up an extra family member' space, a life problem space where you can lose points if you don't have the family members listed and then a 'Game' space where you pick a card and play the game listed on there. There are 14 different games. You learn life points for winning the games and sometimes lose life points for the losers.
It worked really well and was very personal to our family
All cards were printed credit card sized and laminated. I bought counters to be points and playing pieces to move around the board!
