can my employer do this???

hi my employer has now decided that we will not be paid double time for bank holidays when we work a night shift 10pm til 6am as they class after 8pm as being this next day's shift. is this right????

    what does your contract say?
    Debt free 4th April 2007.
    New house. Bigger mortgage. MFWB after I have my buffer cash in place.

    And just as importantly - even if we knew whether overtime payments are contractual, there simply isn't enough information to give any meaningful advice. What exactly has the employer done, when and how; how long have you worked there; and any other information about what has happened.
