  • Thank you beccie, fairy and CP. I'm so relieved!! DH had a motorbike accident in June and spent 9 weeks in hospital with a severe brain injury. He's still off on the sick now but has been laid off his work anyway on the grounds of reduced capabilities (he was a roofer and cant go up-a-height now), so when he's able to work again he will have to find something else. He has ongoing memory and cognitive problems but is improving all the time thank god. There was a point when we didnt know if he'd make it:eek:. Anywhoo, the critical illness insurer said severe brain injuries weren't covered  (whats not critical about that??!!??), but that strokes were. They've reviewed all his scans etc and the bleed in his brain at the time of the accident was in the same place as a stroke would be so they are paying out on that.

Wow they try to wiggle out of everything don't they? I hate insurance companies!! :(

Good to hear your hubby is on the mend though, and i know it can be a long process but hopefully he will be back to his old self in no time!

  • Got back this afternoon and the post man had been, another £25 birthday cheque to add from my Dad:D.

I'm thinking about putting that and the £50 from my Mum toward the new TV, I really need. (I only want 19" so that would almost cover it).

Congratulations p-l-m-b-l on your payout, it must be a relief after such a stressful time. Good luck chasing the rest, give 'em hell.

Great news PLMBL! :j Must be such a relief. Good luck on getting the rest :)

Just bought a Nintendo DS (lite) on Amazon - was without a charger, but only £29 in total! Wondered if it would be as good as they described... came today and it is in excellent condition and even came with a case - very impressed :) Will be leaving great feedback...

Also received my first lot of money back vouchers for my cashback credit card - £10 :) Was supposed to receive an extra £10 voucher in my statement as a sign up offer so will have to email them about it.

Thank you. Just wanted to check as the cashbee company had reports of keeping goods and not paying out. Will persevere and try and get £10 worth of goods. We have loads in house but they don't belong to me.

I'd be inclined to wait until someone confirms they have received payment if they have some iffy reviews - could just be someone moaning for no particular reason!

Just made £10 selling some bits but have postage fees to come out of that too, also have a few more to sell.
I also had a list on Zapper for £25 but it needed me to print off a postage label, but I am on an iPad and don't have a printer. Is there anyway around this do we know?
