Thank you! Thankfully it's not taught it in schools anymore...' <-- See that? It's called an apostrophe. It does not mean "hey, look out, here comes an S".0 -
For a start, don't panic about the bank details. Every time you write a cheque you give out your full bank details plus a copy of your signature.
But this sounds like the "payment processor" scam, where they transfer funds from "phished" accounts to your account and ask you to send them on to the scammers by Western Union/Moneygram etc.
They can't do this directly from phished accounts, so they need some mug in the middle, who becomes the real victim when the phished account holder realises and reports the phishing, and the transfer is reversed leaving a big hole in your account:eek:
They won't be emptying her account, they will more likely be filling it - but if she does get any payments into her account it is vital she doesn't withdraw it and send via Western Union etc, she must inform her bank who should reverse the transaction to where it came from.0 -

You write out cheques? I'd be hard pressed to find my cheque book. Even the window cleaner takes BACS / debit card or whatever! Does anyone actually still take them?
My wife writes them all the time - she thinks she's the Queen and never carries cash:rotfl:. Things like cubs, guides, school trips, money for nephew/nieces birthday sent in cards etc.0 -
There is something wrong with the english in that training blurb. I think it's called 'pidgin'.
But a good attempt nonetheless :T0 -

I was thinking about that the other day too when I wrote the word 'their' on another forum.0
