Mrs Happy, I totally sympathise with the whole Admiral situation, I had simialr with them last year. Infact we did end up insuring with them for one of the cars, as we couldnt get any other quotes anywhere near it, even with the extra they charge for monthly payments.

Re the ebaying, I have a bit of an aversion to it,as its so time consuming ! We have sold a few bits though , and it has been worth it. We sold DD2's bed and got the same price on ebay that we had paid for it 7 years earlier ! I didnt realise until I found the receipt a couple of weeks ago ! Mr Pinot discovered at the weekend though that ebay have a great app meaning its so much easier and faster to list items, but I'm not sure if you have that facility ? Great idea utilising your DD though, I do the same, DD2 loves taking the photos for me and I "pay" her in riding lessons that were already secretly budgeted for !! :D Its a Win Win situation !

Tee hee...I am sure NL wouldn't mind your words of wisdom :p Mrs PG! Ramblings they are not!! Succinct words of wisdom yes!

Seriously, I think the keeping up appearances bit of it all is stressful in its own right and shouldn't be underestimated. ( your diary title says it all Mrs H!) I know I have made promises to my DCs about things and I then despite the fact we couldn't then really justify them I have simply carried on as I felt that I couldn't break a promise...

Well it's good to meet like minded people in this virtual support group of ours!:rotfl:

I am in desperate need of some ebay sales as we are really short this month. What is the app you mentioned Pinot? It is the time it takes me to list that usually puts me off.
Mr Pooh only did three days paid work in the last three weeks!! And he isn't at work today as his work vehicle has broken down. We have DS3 out looking at it and hopefully solving the problem without us having to resort to paying a garage to do it. This is a new money saving for us.

I have just started rambling but deleted it all again, as I will go on forever on a bit of a rant on this particular subject and hijack the lovely Mrs Happy"s Diary ! Sorry !!! xx

Ooh, Mrs P, you must ALWAYS feel free to rant and hijack my diary! Without rants/hijacks/company my diary would be very boring indeed and even I wouldn't read it! You know the kind of thing:
    'Month One: Got no money
Month Two: Got no money and made rice pudding
Month Three: Still got no money but made nice soup'

    :D:D

Ah yes, I recognise that! The answer has got to be to not make those promises in the first place, but I keep doing it too.

And I was looking round my house the other day and thinking how I need to replace a couple of sofas (thanks cats), and several rooms need decorating, plus the kitchen needs new worktops and the extractor fan has broken. You can only take 'shabby chic' so far! Luckily Mr Happy genuinely doesn't SEE things like that. But he does notice that our cars are old - one in particular can't last much longer. There's going to come a point when it's not worth repairing and we will have to replace it - and the only way will be via finance :(...... So, I absolutely HAVE to get some of our existing debt paid off, so we can afford more :rotfl:!! Grrr, I really hope it doesn't come to that, but I fear it might......

Kerri! Thank you for dropping by and subscribing :). I've 'seen' you on various other diaries, and your own diary was on my list of ones to read when I get a spare few minutes (along with JWIL's and Piquant's). You have given me the incentive to get on with it, which I will do tonight!

Hope you pop in again, all company very gratefully received :) x

Hello Pooh :), you're back from your weekend in Scotland. I'll nip onto your diary to see if you've had a good time. I'm also interested in the Ebay app (anything to make life easier) so if Pinot doesn't see this let's nag her about it!

Hope DS3 manages to sort out Mr Pooh's car. What a great skill to have!

I have a Blackberry and the ebay app doesn't allow selling as far as I can find. Hopefully i will find an eassier way to list items as I usually give up as I find it all so tediously slow.

Happy DS3 didn't manage to fix the car but his own car passed it's MOT today which has delighted him.

I gave up on my diary soon after starting it a couple of years ago as there was no change and it was becoming boring. Yours is really interesting and I love to read how you are doing.
