Hi I am going to a friends house party for New Years Eve and it is going to be a lot of families there - kids as young as 3 to probably about 10. I want to make something for everyone - in the past I have done things like, reindeer food, snowman soup, cake pops, chocolate apples etc. I like these

What's a first footing bag?
Seems too much like hard work to me. Just take a bottle of booze!Striving to clear the mortgage before it finishes in Dec 2028 - amount currently owed - £17,496.340 -
a lump of coal :-)
Lump of Coal
In days of yore never mind the whisky, it was traditional for First Footers to carry a lump of coal with them. This was lovingly placed on the host's fire. If you're determined to do Hogmanay by the book then take the coal by all means but be prepared for some grief when you set it on top of the central heating radiators!
I got given some 'pit bits' one year, lovely wee present, not very MSE friendly though!!

if you are 1st foot remember to go outside via the back door and come in via the front door -apparently you are taking the past year out and guiding the new year in ! I like to spend the New Year Eve with my family. And you can bring some interesting toys to the children. Happy new year to all.0
