yes climbgirl (curious name) is exactly right but let me explain a little more
get all three the credit reports ; obviously if they dont show the O2 default then no problems.
but if they do then you need to write to the CRA and say you dispute the entry and thats its incorrect. They then must contact O2 who have 28 days in which to reply. if O2 cant find any record of you and so can't reply to the CRA then it will be removed from your record.
if they can find a record of you then you can follow it up with O2.0 -
Hi Clapton,
Thanks for your input. I contacted Equifax (cos the default is on that credit report), and have asked them to deal with the dispute because im getting absolutely no where with O2, so hopefully, it will get sorted. I will leave if 14 days, then contact them to see how they are getting on.
O2 asked me to send in a letter and gave me an address, so I asked the guy "and how are you meant to sort it out if you cant find anything for me"!!!!
I will get a copy of my report from Experian (called them they said I can use my sisters credit card), so she will call me tonight with her credit card details & I will take it from there.
I will let you know how Im getting on.0 -
girltuesday wrote:Hi,
I had a massive problem with O2 last year, when they put a default on me for money I didn't owe. The amount of time I spent on the phone, writing letters, etc etc, getting nowhere... and believe me, I'm not an amateur complainer!
I lost my rag in the end and sent a huge great long letter by recorded delivery and email to their Chief Exec (including a threat to report them to every vaguely relevant regulatory body!). His office rang me, apologised profusely, said that he was having it looked into, and lo and behold it was sorted within a couple of days.
Might be worth a try?
His name is Peter Erskine. Can't find his address at the mo (I'm at work) but his email is Peter.Erskine@O2.com
Hi GirlTuesday,
Ive just sent an abbrupt email to O2's chief exec, to try to get this sorted. ive written to Equifax too, but, im hoping if I write to him, it will get the matter sorted more quickly.
