I guess it must be my high maintainance wife.. Hence why I also look for bargins on MSE. Just know that I may get caught out on this one!

I would take all the items out of the hamper which aren't Christmas related and tie them in a big red ribbon and give them to her that way. Or get a wicker basket from Wilko's/Poundstretcher and arrange the chocolate and wine in that .

Peel off the best before labels if possible. Chocolate doesn't go off, after a few months it might get a little white 'bloom' on the chocolate, but it is still safe to eat. I've read stories on MSE of people who buy bargain tins of Roses etc, and store them in the garage until the following Christmas and are still here to tell the tale!

And then eat you can eat all the christmas related stuff yourself ;):D

Its a Christmas hamper.. You really think your wifes gonna give you brownie points for buying clearance items. Especially if you plan on giving it to her on Valentines. :)

She's a chocoholic. Believe me, she'll love it.

    All gone!!!!!!!
  • These have disappeared from the Clearance Section, but if you do a search for Christmas it comes up along with a few other items, all of which you can purchase.
