    Sounds as though you're really getting organised about your money now - well done!

    Just a thought about your gas/leccy:
    Of course it's cheaper only to have heating on in short bursts, and only to heat one room rather than the whole house, but you should bear in mind that energy from electricity costs way more than the same amount of energy from gas. So using your electric heater may not be such an economy. You'd be better off turning off the radiators in the rooms you don't want to bother heating, and then just putting the central heating on for a short burst instead of the electric heater.
