Hoping someone has bought the perfect pair for the party season and can recommend!

I need a decent pair of black tights for New Year to wear with this dress and shoe boots. I'm not sure what denier to get.

I don't want a very heavy opaque look. On then other hand I do need a decent amount of coverage to mask a few imperfections. I don't like the shiny look either.

I want a decent quality pair and am happy to pay for a nice quality.

I am looking at these by Aristoc, which are semi-opaque matte, but am not sure how much coverage 40 denier will provide.

Any advice, please?

I just wore some beautiful ones i got from John Lewis (own make). They were £4.50. I felt confident and "well held" as they say.x

I like 40, they're not that opaque so you will see dark freckles through them but of all the deniers I think they make legs look the most toned as you get dark shadows on all your contours so your knees look slimmer and legs generally more shapely. Aristoc are okay but not worth the money. With a dress that long you can wear the incredible suck in and smooth you down M&S tights for half that price. Their suck in tights really are brilliant, way better than the pants, zero jiggle and NO ugly bump where the waist band rolls down because it doesn't roll down!

Lol at "a dress that long".
I'm 5'8" and I've tried it on everyday since I've got it fretting that it's too short for me at my age!

Thanks! Are these the ones you mean? They get very good reviews.

Yes! I didn't think they were 60, they are far less opaque on than on that model!
By long I just mean that the support on those comes half way down the thigh :D

They were 30 denier...said "sleek" on the packet. I am 5' 8" tall.
  • I love boots own brand opaque tights. They are £6 for a pack of 3 and are the only ones I've ever found comfy. Come in various thicknesses.

I'd go for 60 denier. Asda do a pack of three for a fiver which I think are good. Neither too sheer nor too thick, and comfy to wear.
