    The reason for the loan will normally affect the lenders decision.

    For example you would be more likely to be accepted for a car loan than perhaps a loan for a holiday or debt consolidation.

  • If you really need the money, why not apply for 2 or 3 credit cards, im sure this will total, £5k. Although be careful to space applying out or they may get nervous.
    If its for debt consolidation and you have savings, i say spend your savings on the debt.

    Vanquis, Capital One classic, Aqua are "bad" cards, but they have limits of £150 - £1000 for new people so you couldn't get £5k between all of them
