How to do a monthly budget food shop?

i got four 2p 2ft baguettes the other day
also i have had
10p fresh herbs
40p figs
10p carrots
20p kg parsnips
50p stuffed mushrooms
50p MASSIVE sundried tomato + mozzarella salad
and i just saw 10p sprouts in some kind of meaty butter in M&S

BUT it *does* depend which asda you go to, my nearest one (2 miles) is tight when it comes to reducing but the one 8 miles away is amazing, works out cheaper even with petrol, and it has a better selection

I think £200 doable as 1 adult 2kids no babies or pets.

would love to keep to 200 but theres 5of us.

but with rising foodprices the way we shopped has changed.

Tried one big monthly shop and it never lasted used to do it all at sainsburys or tesco.

Find tesco pricey.

our sainsburys is opposite lidls.
so we do lidls first which means i then spend less in sainsburys get most of my fresh veg/fruit there and tinned/pasta ect.

Sainsburys is my fave for value basic range as ours is big so lots of choice.

we also have another lidls fairly close and next to morrisions.

generally find morrisions reductions stingy but its ok for frozen deals and grocery always lots bogoffs.

genrally dont like asda so go there infrequently.

our farmers market is pricey

but if you have a normal market then theres baragins to be had.

I shop at mobile butchers in pub carpark he also does 2markets a week too.

we have had few poundshops open and they do cheap foods.

poundland even wilkos does food now.

frozen used to shop@iceland for frozen its pricey for most other things now we shop at farmfoods as much cheaper and have huge chest freezer make sure its well stocked.

we have large co-op which wouldent do whole weekly shop as its pricey.
but i do buy the offers and they the most gerenous with reductions go least twice a week.

afternoons, evenings
sundays and bank hols always bargains.
got 5packs of 3pack fresh garlic bread other day 35p a pack.
goes well with 6packs of mince brought few weeks back on lidls deal half price £1.40 a pack.
the passata waqs on offer at 25p so can make spag bol for whole family with sainsbury basic spaggetti for £2.50 for 4-6meals!

I know when i go shopping what goes with what.
i used to meal plan and buy accordingly.

but recntly been mealp[lanning around whats on offer or reduced.

My local spars reallly good for reductions too.again expensive so just hunt there as near school.

noticed tesco express garage shops often have good reductions find my tesco metro rubbish with reductions and the extras just too big and tempting.

lidls and farmfoods cheapest for milk so bulk buy I have large fridge.

In the summer months I forage free fruit
i also go pick your own strawberry farm.

theres veg man at carboot sale sometimes.
also some independant shops can be cheap and have good offers.

have a list of staples like passatta /tinned tomatoes
pasta
rice

build your meals around that.
