Please can somebody tell me. If my partner bought a home outside the UK, does she still qualify as a first time buyer in the UK?

For stamp duty purposes she will not qualify as a First time Buyer. A lender may view her as such.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it. What if she transferred the existing property to somebody else? Or would it be better if I just purchase the property as I definitely qualify.0

You would need to purchase in your sole name to receive FTB SDLTR at 250k up to March 2012.
Hope this helps

Regarding Stamp Duty, am i right in thinking that, the mortgage process needs to be completed by March 2012 to qualify for the stamp duty waver? Or is it if you apply before march 2012 your exempt?
Edit: Ignore this post, I have started a new tIhread!0 -
The purchase must have completed by the end date.
