Start a savings account. Are you mad!
That's what sensible folks do, no time for that sort of nonsense on here.I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.0 -
Fantastic post as usual O4U.
I've just come through Christmas in fine fettle by doing just that over the last year. I'm pleased to report there is plenty of food in the fridge, all presents were bought, Santa was quite generous to the kids and not a credit card bill in sight. Out of the prudence over the last year came a new car suitable for an imminent addition to the family for under £500 and some sharp negotiating meant the insurance broker took a haircut on the price as well.
As others have said, I have just seperated my bills from my income account and now there is no excuse for overspending since the food and petrol bill comes from a completely different pot of money. DDs are in place for Christmas next year along with a discretionary birthday fund, kids shoes and new garden fund. I have various savings accounts all accepting pre-budgeted amounts on the 1st of the month and I've finally moved all bill payments to that date too. Whatever is left after that date is my own.
2013 is a new year and I'm determined, once and for all, to get out of this mess.Debt Free! Long road, but we did it

FIREWYRM I agree with your ipad sig. One of my kids wants one, but I REFUSE to pay the ridiculous price for an over-rated, over-priced item which is worth no more than £150 tops.0
