Baby poo stains...

I guess I could have added this on to the muesli thread, sorry folks, I'm all over the place. I've done a search but nothing comes up for this one (some very amusing things DO come up, but nothing on baby poo, lol!)
I have tried soaking in bio powder and cold water, and then washing, but to no avail. I bought some soda crystals the other day but I'm not sure whether these will make the stains worse or better. If anyone has a tried and tested way of shifting breastfed baby poo, I would be ever so grateful to hear from you!
Life in the fast lane, hey. Best go, baby crying....!
Thanks! Lucy

Hi Lucyeff,
There are some suggestions on this older thread that may help: Help with nappy stains

Hi! It's on everything, lol! She squirted it mid nappy change on her sleepsuits and towel and quilt cover. Amazing how they manage it. Not all whites, but I'll try the sun shine, the only prob is that we only have a rotary line which is in the garage (dh usefully put it away...) and I can't wrestle with it as I have baby constantly attached, lol! Will get him to sort it when he's home.
Thanks for the stains thread, I searched 'baby poo' before, shows how posh I'm not!:rotfl: I'll have a look right now at the proper thread.
Ta again! Lucy (with unbrushed teeth and needing a wee...how much easier is it being at work than at home with a newborn??? I've constantly needed a wee but not had chance since I had my first baby in June 05, lol!)0 -
Its a long time since my children were babies but I remember those yellow stains!
Artichoke is right - hang your washing on the line in sunlight and the stains will disappear.
Lucyeff your post brought back happy memories- its a lovely stage of life!0 -
I found that if you soak the items in solution of Napisan immediately the stains will often wash out. However if you're not keen on that sort of stuff I suggest like others to dry in the sun. Breast fed poo is amazing isn't it?!0

I would also go with sunlight. If you havent got access to the washing line at the moment could you put some of the items on a window sill in direct sunlight. Could the towel and quilt cover put hung over a curtain rail to get it into sunlight?Sorting my life out one day at a time0

Thanks everyone! The front window is the sunniest so I'll put the clothes airer there, thanks for the tip!
Baby poo certainly is amazing. It puts you off thick shakes from McDonalds that's for sure. And piccalilli! Heh heh. Shame is doesn't come in squares with 'Cadburys' written in the middle though ............ there's one thing I DO need to be put off....0 -
Not very old style but I find the solid bars of Vanish get BF poo off. I had loads of leaks (mainly from when I put the odd disposible on!) and also use cloth and I have nothing that is stained.
If it comes out stained first time washing I apply again and throw back in teh next wash.
Good luck.New to MSE :hello:

Napisan is very good, well worth buying IMO, got stains out of my sons terry nappies without a problem, that plus sunshine I think will be your best bet.One day I might be more organised...........
