Not sure if this is in the right place. Basicall, I recieved a make-up pallet from my MIL. Its not my thing and she said not to worry if I wanted to exchange it. Its form M&S. Can I exchange it without a reciept? Im alos worried it will now be int eh sale. If I am allowed to, will I only be able to exchange at the current sale price? Sorry for so many Qs!

Without a receipt, M&S will give you the current price.
If it is in the Sale, you will only get the Sale price.British Ex-pat in British Columbia!0 -

Thank you so much. I dread to think how much she spentI would rather have something Id use - its such a waste otherwise. May brave it tomorrow. Many thanks for your reply :A

I'd agree- I think makeup can't be returned for hygiene reasons. If its sealed in some way it may be fine (eg the lids on some products have foil seals which show they haven't been used). There is always ebay if they refuse to take it back- or maybe enjoy? Its not costing you anything so no need to feel bad, maybe its a chance to experiement on something you wouldn't have otherwise?
I'd suggest waiting until the 27th though (some stores open on the 26th) as many stores refuse refunds and exchanges on the 26th.0 -
I would never tell someone I didn't like a present they had bought me,particularly not a mil.0

I also thought make up could not be returned.maybe the OP has a very clsoe relationship with there MIL so feels comfortable letting them know its not her thing,i know id rather be told that than someone be stuck with an unwanted present that will either be ebayed or sent to a charity shop!0

I've returned toiletries before that have been sealed. It depends on the packaging."One day I realised that when you are lying in your grave, it's no good saying, "I was too shy, too frightened."
Because by then you've blown your chances. That's it."0 -
If it's a makeup palate it would usually have packaging on it so should be returnable.Life is like a box of chocolates..........you always seem to pick the hard ones!0
