Had a very productive day... mostly in my favour

Sky - We had free sports and movie package, ended end of Dec, rang up to go back to orignal package, then decided bluff my way to see what discounts could get, have been thinking of leaving, but want free sat recordable box, £200, we've been quotes.
Previuosly wanted multi-room, they said yes, but had quotes between £150 and £200.....
Got free sports and movies for another month, reduced my package down, said not paying £10pm for HD mix, and got my multi room, they offered basic sky box non-recordable, bluffed said in 6 months time may get HD side back, so got HD box, free fitting, and free box........ Saved £220.....

Halifax - I could throttle them, they made a big error on my account back in August, took 8 weeks to get DD given back to me, they promised me £25 goodwill gesture, still waiting.... had 2 x £5 goodwill gestures whilst I'm awaiting £25..... now there giving me £70 as a sweetner.... (apparently be in account by Fri!!- were see!)

Venue for mum and dads wedding party - its a lovely pub, has a seperate function room, either £5 per head for them to do the buffet, minimum of 50 people (£250), or if I do own food and afternoon booking, should be £150 room hire, but as its a surpirse party, lovely idea, shes knocked £50 off, - got room for £100. (when hlaifax pay up, only have to pay £30 for room), knock up a buffet cheaper than £5 ph.

Been invited to my tutors 60th birthday party, he's the one whos mums furneral we went to last yr.... (ok got to find v expensive looking present - mse prices!!)

Cafcass - 50/50 but rang to find out who Miss Hoodies cafcass officer is, the 1st got "removed" from the case, the 2nd on maternity leave..... but officer 1 has taken over all the cases. - Told them no way, the mgr is now getting another officer in.

Dads house insurance - set the wheels in motion for him to get £40 cashback, (after 90days) he's giving me £20 towards Lapland when he gets the money.

    Birthday Presents 2012
Bar Mum, dad, Miss Hoodie, have now got all the bday presents done, - from what we had left from last yr, a few regifts, and couple of sale items.

    Ordered £8 cashback.... xx
xx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx

Well as a complete newbie to this, I have had to sort out all manner of things! Have sorted all my long forgotten survey registrations, had to ask for the passwords to be emailed on just about all of them, and have listed the "starting balance" on each, be it points or £, and I am going to just keep a little running total each month to keep me motivated.

Have opened a new savings account for the Christmas money.

Have also sorted the change pot out, hopefully tamper proof otherwise the little Toonie's will be after it!

As an extra little push, I have started a calculator to work out how much money I am saving by not buying cigarettes. The higher the total goes, the more angry I am becoming thinking of the waste over the years.

Still very much finding my feet, but I'm getting there.

Don't know if its any help re pottys etc, but with Miss Hoodie, we had potty downstairs and one on bathroom, so she got use to seeing them around.

What we did was after a drink we'd see if would sit on the potty, even if was 30 secs, she got up and wondered, we started her off at 18mths, she was out of nappies at 2, few accidents, but she wouldn't do a no 2 on the loo, it had to be her potty, even at just turning 3, then one day she was on the toilet, and did a no 2, don't think she was expecting it to be that, and that was it.

After 2 she was in nappies at ngt, we'd put her to bed, then when we went up about 11, we'd potty her, then about 3 1/2yrs we carried her to the loo. xx

    Morning all

I was up early this morning, we had EGS stay over so I had to get up to get him up for school. Glad I did as I qualified for a survey this morning so my time hasnt been wasted.

Good luck Nicky for today, thinking of you xx

I was just checking my amounts along with my spreadsheet and have noticed that I had £16.50 in SHead account. I was waiting for £3 of it to go from pending so I could withdraw (needs £16.08 to withdraw as its US$ convert). Been waiting a month for it to change from pending, went on today and some of its disappeared altogether and now I am under the £16 mark again, I'm at £15.97 lol. So I will have to do another survey if one comes up and then wait again for it to go from pending. Very annoying.

What a shame Rufus - You'll get there soon.

ToonTron - that's fab news hun. You're on the right track. Well done. :) Take it one day at a time.

Joe - great news about the ebay stuff and the reviews.

Michelle - More reviews? You're going great guns this month. Woohoo

Mum2one - wow you've been busy. Good news about getting the venue sorted.

Nicky - todays the day. :D We'll be thinking of you. Hope it all goes ok, and that junior makes a safe arrival.

SLM - slow and steady wins the race. YOu're going great. :)

Emma - spoints. You're never going to earn loads - it's like sb's. I only usually get one redeem a month from them, and spoints is slower. It's not a terrific earner, but it mounts up over the year. ;)

How's everyone today then? Doing well I hope. If anyone has any problems with anything - don't just sit there, we're all here to help, so let us know, between us we can get it sorted. :D

  • Morning everyone!

I don't have anything planned for today apart from having to go out at 4pm so I will mostly be doing surveys and video watching, rating etc so I can fully dedicate myself to my uni work this weekend since MSE has been using up majority of my time ;) (well that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it).

Good luck to everyone today especially Nicky a lovely new baby! Congratulations.

  • Morning everyone.

Nice to see some sunshine. I am glad it cheered up for Nicky's big day. Good luck with that one hon.

I'm on a bit of a go slow today, but I just did home insurance comparison via quidco, shame my renewal quote held from last years prices was nearly £50 cheaper than the next nearest quote, and I also made myself a medical appointment for next week.

Just pottering really and not being that productive. I've got just over an hour to get myself sorted before getting DS2, and then I need to go to the big Mr T this afternoon.

I'm so tired even though i was in bed before 11. I can't seem to shake myself very much. Some rest needed over the weekend.
