New employer has just made me feel stupid!

I need to have a bit of a rant....
I sent my letter off to the tax man last October after reading the 'wash your unifirm at home' thread. I am given T'shirts and sweatshirts to wear at exhibitions. Anyway they have replied to me at last saying they are writing to my employer to confirm that they do give me the above.
I had a call from my boss yesterday about it. He was so horrid to me. I explained what it was I had asked for and why. He said it's costing him more in his time to fill out the form and the cost of a stamp!!! than what I will gain from asking for the £45 allowance. He just really made me feal rubbish and greedy for applying for it. and waisting his time.
None of my colleagues who are supplied with the same could be bothered to send off a letter when I told them they may get an allowance via their tax code, so it's just me. The new girl, now perceived as a trouble maker.
It has really made me feel like saying stick your job, I could not think of anything smart at the time to say back. But would appreciate any one liners for when I have to see him next.

Next time you see him say
"Got the £45 alright. Thanks for your help"We all evolve - get on with it0 -
And you can bet that if your boss could get away with one less member of staff saving £45 he would do it in a heartbeat.
Hope you got him to do it after! If he doesnt then the company is not worth working for, move on and find something better.0 -
Master/servant relationship, know your place.bootman wrote:I had a call from my boss yesterday about it. He was so horrid to me. I explained what it was I had asked for and why. He's the boss, you're the employee.
It's probably 5 minute job to fill in form & your boss should have been more helpful.
But employers don't like employees causing them grief & with the tax man.
Be tactful, your employer has learnt something & hopefully it will all be forgotten about soon.
