    Happy Christmas everyone!

Graham, enjoy these early days in the development of your son, I remember those days with joy.....especially when they are fighting now!

That said, I cannot fault my boys over the last 3 or 4 days, they have been wonderful, especially eldest who has obviously inherited my organisational gene and got all the arrangements made for the other two boys, plus packed their bags and my bag without fuss when he got the news I had been admitted to hospital.

Sorry to hear that. I do hope you get well soon.
Sounds like your kids will make sure you have a merry christmas...wherever you are.

Have a lovely Christmas everyone, what is the weather like in OZ on Christmas day? I believe you have had the worst summer for 50 years, any chance of snow :)

The weather finally got its act together just in time. Apparently today is going to be 26C and sunny. I'm lying in bed, the first awake and there's not a cloud in the sky. Lovely.

It has been horrible though. Wet and freezing cold. Barely 20C. Brrrr. We should be able to stay home from work in those sort of conditions. I might get slightly damp or anything!

Slightly belated Christmas wishes to all. Hope you've had a great time so far and are agreeably surprised to find yourselves less hungover/overweight/impoverished than you feared. Best wishes to Sue for a speedy recovery.

Merry (in a joyous sense, not as in intoxicated - especially behind the wheel) Non Denominational (but clearly enough 'nomination' as to be sufficiently inclusive) Winter Festival Celebration ('winter' to be read as a non judgemental expression on climate not involving climate change) to everyone :)

[phew this PC business is a challenge isn't it?] :D

Careful there kabayiri - you've excluded Generali and any other antipodean board members.
Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. (Link permitted by forum team)
Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.
    :)

Travelling home from Brighton at 3 o'clock this morning. Was a barmy 12C.

So mild. Even the spring bulbs are coming up in the garden already.

12C!!! That's inhuman. You should write a letter.
