Real People win

I've received a letter from Real People saying I've won £100 as a runner up in the Big Crossword competition from the 11th January issue. There have now been so many Real People winners, I am begining to think something funny is going on.

I tried to find the original post for this but no luck. Thanks somebody!

Well done, I think there are lots of winners because they split the prizes fund into lots of little prizes. It used to be that these kind of magazines offered bigger cash prizes for each comp - around £500 -£1000. Now they seem to be offering more prizes but smaller prizes. I guess from their point of view it encourages people to keep buying the magazine. I know people used to buy these magazines and enter for years, and never win a prize. They then end up, understandably, feeling its a waste of time and money.
