Call Credit says no history of me.

Hi there,

so i have taken out three credit reports but i haven't had a chance to see all three yet.

Equifax says i need to upload some documents to prove my identity before i can get access to my report.

Credit Expert has sent me out a PIN and i need to enter this before i get access to my file.

CallCredit - I received a letter from them saying there's absolutely zilch on my credit report and have been unable to retrieve any sort of credit report for me which effectively meant when i applied for anything, i got rejected.

They also said they couldn't find me on the electrol roll which is a bit strange as i phoned up the local council and they confirmed i am on it.

The question here is, is there anything i can do personally, so there is at least some sort of information about me which credit reports can pick up and which will primiarly build up a credit history/report for myself?

you do know the council don't send your file individually to the credit agencies on the exact day as a happy birthday gift, don't you?

CallCredit are by far the least used of all the CRA's - as long as you are shown on Equifax you'll be picked up by the others eventually. The reasons for refusal are varied, and not being listed by one or other is seldom an issue, only bad data is. Further, it is often the case that a mis-typed postcode or surname can result in a false refusal.

OP why not focus on college rather than the credit score.

Honestly Emmzi, i have taken your advice on board. My main goal was to get a phone contract and that was it. I'm paying around £40 plus a month PAYG.

So logically, it made sense to try for one.

I'm not going to apply for anything else for atleast 6 - 12 months.
