Today is my Lightbulb Moment

Hi

I am having a first time moment i have been lurking for while and reading about other experiences:

I have the following SOA

Income £1863.00

Outgoings

Mortgage £664.00
Council Tax £72.00
Water £20.50
Prof Fees £15.04 ( Acts as Prof Ins too)
Telephone £11.00 (Line Rental BT)
Mobile £ 35.00 (Orange with Free BB)
House & Contents Ins £25.04
Mortgage Protection £29.55
Sky £ 43.50 (Been trying to drop this today )


Credit Cards & Loans

HSBC Credit Card £ 7555.00 - Min Payment £222.00
M&S Credit Card £ 6550.00 - Min Payment £188.10
Secured loan £15,000 - Payment fixed £ 206.13 - 60 Mths - 44 to go
Unsecured Loan £15000 - Payment fixed £253.68 - 48 Mths to go (Was 84)


House Total = £915.63

Credit Total = £869.81

=Grand Total of £1785.44


Leaving £77.56 for food gas elec etc

I have a company car so no fuel bills etc

Have today tried to move my credit card bills to other cards which have no balance on with no luck as i havent used them for a long time - was told to start using them and then in three months they would balance transfer!!!!!!!!


Have called cccs but it was too late to spk to someone tonite, have to call back tomorrow

I feel better for writing this down and will keep looking for any tips

    I believe you can go it online with cccs now, just goto https://www.cccs.co.uk
  • Evenin' and welcome! You are definitely in the right place.

    Did you get any luck with the sky? You will hear and see this time and time again but do you need it or want it? At the very least I would reduce it down to the basic package, if not get rid of it altogether. You could replace it with a freeview box which only has a one off cost of about 20 quid.
    You must be able to get your phone bill down too, contracts are not a good idea if you are tight for money. You could always look at the NTL package where you can get a landline, broadband internet and some cable tv for a set price - it might be ideal.

    There are loads more people who will be able to help you with more of the financial stuff so keep checking! Good luck. xxx

    What are the aprs on the debt? If you edit your post to show all your outgoings for the month, food, gas, leccy etc then people can see where you stand at the moment

    Went online did their enquiry debt which took me to them saying they needed me to call them but it was 19.50pm so the recorded message said to call back in am

    Sky dont want to answer the phone for ages each time i ve tried tonite, but i have a freeview box which i am going to swap to when i have cancelled the contract with sky.
    My contracts with orange have 14 mths to run so no joy there.

    Hsbc is 16.9%

    M & S is 14.9% thats why i tried to swap on my other cards but they wont at the moment unless i have been using them again!!

  • Have had good result with Sky today

    Also have had notification have some money to come from Payment protection as had an accident last year and still off work so will be able to pay off some money on credit cards so its all go from now on

    sorry to point this out was just wondering how much you were paying back so did calculations and this one didnt add up
