Hi
I bought a white v neck top from Primark last Sat for £5. I wore it today for the first time and when I went to the toilet noticed there was a small hole underneath the arm when I put my arm in the air. It got bigger throughout the day....shall I take it back and get a new one or just sew it up?
Does anyone else find that Primark clothes break / dont last v long?

Yep exactly, think thats why the clothes in there are so cheap. Throw-away fashion.Comping Fairy bring some luck my way! :dance:Love my Fiance Spiceboy :happyhear:iloveyou:0

Take it back! You shouldn't pay for clothes that break the first time you wear them, no matter how cheap.0

For a fiver i would definitely take it back!0

i've never had any primark clothes break, and i've had some for years.
having said that, i don't buy anything that looks like it is delicate or may have the capacity to fall apart, and i check each item very carefully before actually buying it.
it IS throw-away fashion, but certain things from there last very well.
definitely take the item back, however.0 -
You will need a receipt to take it back though as they won't give you anything no refund, no exchange without a receipt now. They wouldn't even accept my bank statement showing I'd used debit card there as proof.
Just trying to save you the humiliation I went through a couple of weeks ago - I'll never shop there again!0 -
I find that Primarks ladies clothes are really quite poor quality wise but they are very cheap. The kids stuff is pretty well-made though but there sizes are a bit odd. My 7 year old is tall but even she is too small for their 7-8 trousers! As for the top I'd take it back & get a refund x0

I buy lots of things in Primark and sometimes their stuff is a bit hit and miss. I always check out the item before I buy it, give it a check around the seams, hems etc.
I have also had clothes from expensive shops that have also broken or come apart too.Baby Ice arrived 17th April 2011. Tired.com! :j0 -
I've got a fleece from Primark that has lasted 8 years. Paid about £3 for it.
It's only fit to wear around house now though.
I think with Primark its hit and miss. Some things are really quite sturdy and others not. I think that now as its become more well known and is regularly featured in the media it changes its ranges more often to keep up with "fashion trends". As a result I think it is more "throwaway" than it was, but still can be good value.April £5 a day challenge- £15.05/£1500 -
I think it depends which fabric you buy. I've had cotton and linen items which lasted really well, but find their knitwear usually goes bobbly or faded. I think with Primark it's usually a case of you only get what you pay for. I've had some fantastic buys, but don't expect them to last for very long.
You should definitely take your faulty item back as by law you are entitled to either a repair, exchange or refund at the manager's discretion. In my experience Primark are always happy to refund or exchange- whichever you prefer. They don't normally bother to offer the repair option, probably because it's not worth it financially?0
