I've just bought Part lies....(etc) from Amazon and am disappointed to see that it doesn't include my favourite track "Near Wild Heaven". Ok so not my absolute favourite in the whole world, but it does remind me of my days at university - or rather it would if it was included on the collection.
What's the point of including 3 new songs when REM haven't provided the full "career spanning retrospective" as they put it?

thing with r.e.m is they have such a back catalogue it would be impossible to put all the key songs on 2 cds without missing some crackers out, this is their 4th best of that i can remember (i have 2 that just covers the irs era)
none of those have contained 'harbourcoat' which is my favourite but oh well cant have everythingWho remembers when X Factor was just Roman suncream?0 -

with the long career they had loads of people have lots of different favourites so they can't please everyone, but putting 3 new tracks on a "best of" is a bit bad. I suspect it's called Part Lies cos I'm really hoping they'll reform in a few years!0 -
