If your uncle has less than £21500 in savings and his care home fees are funded by the council less his contribution of his weekly income, I don't think there would be any limit on what he can give away.
If he has more than £21500 and is self funding he would have to be careful that the council did not think he was deliberately depriving himself of money to avioid the care home fees.0
