Is it a reputable agency? There could be an innocent explanation, such as they are using a cashback card to earn themselves a few pennies.

However my card was fraudulanty used last month, and it was used for £6000 of flights. Amex told me that people go to a 'bucket shop' type travel agency and pay on their card, and then the travel agency buys stolen credit card details to pay for the flight.
My card was used the day after I used it in Budapest.

I'm sure it's not that in this case, but it can happen.

Thanks. The cashback card is the thinking that i have at the moment, but surely they would have noticed a refund with our reference number and contacted us about it?

Who knows what will happen in the morning when i phone them.

The CC it was booked on hasnt been used unauthorised since then.

  • Huge thanks to Mrsfrugal for the tip off re the southern fried chicken and Miss Laid for the photo as I managed to buy 4 tonight (did leave another 4 in the freezer). I was hoping for some free champagne or wine but there was no OOD SEL but the chicken was a nice consolation prize.

I also got 3 packs of whoopsied finest sausages which were reduced to 99p, so with the multibuy discount worked out very cheap. I've just checked at Tesco online and the finest sausages are 2 packs for £4.50 from tomorrow except for the large pack of 10 traditional pork sausages which is in the 3 for £10 or 4 for £12 offer so I don't think the multibuy will kick on if they are reduced from what someone told me a couple of days ago. I also got reduced salmon and pork chops in the 4 for £12 offer so they only cost me £1 a pack.

The freezer was so full I've had to take a turkey out to fit all the goodies in. I don't think my DH is too pleased at the thought of turkey for the next few nights so soon after Xmas. I only used to have my fridge freezer up until about 4 weeks ago and then bought a small chest freezer from Argos which I had no problem filling and now wonder how I ever managed without it.

I also got a couple of packs of Aunt Bessie's Yorkshire garden peas which are half price at 50p (there are currently vouchers on Facebook for 50p off any Aunt Bessie's product so makes them free).

My cherry pie turned into a Cherry, Nectarine and Pine nut tart.

I added some whoopsied nectarines, and some pine nuts I found in the cupboard from the old DTD days. The fruit was marinated in caramel vodka. Not bad at all for a first attempt. Thanks to everyone for the advice. :)

I'm thinking the way it could work would be you pay the travel agency say £100 for your flight. The travel agency keeps that money then they pay the airline £95 for the flight on their card. Therefore your money doesn't goto the airline directly.

But it is a long while since my airline ticketing days. Years ago the ticket had to be on the passengers card, except in unusual circumstances.

    evening all

I love coming on here.......so nice how people are so kind to eachother.

popped out to look for a freesat box that was on HUKD but never found one. Went to a store I dont usually go to as it has no scanners! Lots of lucozade shots (test bought only one as research as my kids said they are disgusting!) 1p
lots of coffee machine descaler things 1p
fly stickers (presumed 1p - I could not bring myself to buy anymore!)
lots of green tea clip strips

Probably as no scanner people havent taken everything!

Found one item I havent seen before a cute little 'disney cars' tin with sweeties inside, 1p bc ends 9390
was on a clipstrip of course and looks like a key ring type thing
