I used to make butter with top of the milk (gold top) - simply beat in a food mixer for quite a long time until it separates into whey and fat and then drain and press the fat together between greaseproof. I expect this would work with double cream too, not sure if it would if its homogenised?
A friend has a gadget that converts unsalted butter back to cream!0 -

I got rid of mine a few months back. Had them for 3 years. I hate my garden now. Seems so lifeless. I used to love watching them scratch around and how they fell over one another to get to me first when I entered the garden
OH insisted that I got rid of them but I don't half miss my girls:A Every moment is a gift. That's why we call it the present.!:A

As mine and Lala's diet starts tomorrow I went to T's for one last bar of chocolate.
Do you still want £10 for every inch you lose of that gut of yours?Something unexpected happened which made me smile and still continues to make me smile.

When I was a kid we had chickens, ducks and geese. Goose eggs are lovely, I have them soft boiled, with soldiers or they make a fantastic omeletteSomething unexpected happened which made me smile and still continues to make me smile.

LilacLillie- Easy peasy to make your cream into butter. Put into food processor, whizz until it turns into a big lump of golden butter and some buttermilk. Add a pinch of salt before processing (or not...your call).
Drain off the buttermilk to use in baking. Squeeze as much buttermilk out with your hands as you can, then just wash the butter under cold water until the water runs clear. It's important to wash it (it is waterproof!!) otherwise it goes off too quickly.
Wrap in a bit of greaseproof paper and put any excess in freezer.
I usually just put mine in old marg tubs.
The whole process takes literally about 5 minutes. Just keep it going in the FP til it is a big lump. Much easier to deal with than if you stop it too soon.
I will be off to Tesco later and just hope I can find some!!Father Ted: Now concentrate this time, Dougal. These
(he points to some plastic cows on the table) are very small; those (pointing at some cows out of the window) are far away...:D:D

Woohoo. Just noticed on the main thread that sun holiday tokens begin on the 7th!
Happy days
I have always managed to go where and when we want and LOVE these deals. As long as you go out every day and just use your accommodation for sleeping, there's not much to grumble about.
I'd avoid the big names though.... H..., P...,
