    Morning everybody :)

You could convert them to Avios points. £2.50 is worth 600 points however in February they are giving a 400 bonus points for every £2.50, so you could get 100,000 Avios points:eek::eek:.
Enough for two trips to New York and have some left over :)

DO you not have to pay taxes etc with avios though? I'm not really sure how they work, and their website's not the most helpful for the casual visitor, but I do remember people on MSE complaining when it changed from air miles.
    Hope is not a strategy.

  • morning all -

Not got time to read back - hope you are all having some good bargains and glitches in the sale.... if not, then im sure something will come along soon.

    Still no baby yet. lol.

Just wanted to ask a quick question... i sent a letter to Phillip Clarke a few weeks back regarding a complaint i had - quite a serious one. - it was then passed over to another lady - whos name i wont mention - she said she was dealing with the enquiry and would get back to me.... today i received an e-mail from another gentleman saying tha the enqury has been investigated and they staff will receive customer service training.....

i am not happy with this outcome - i wanted moredoing... not quite sure what - but as i ended up out of pocket from this, - i would have thought that a gift card would have bveen acceptable??? -

any suggestions of how i can word it so that i find out what has actually been done and im not been fobbed off... etc.?

    Thanks in advance

    xx

Nice DTD (with prompting) in M1ddleton on some OOD SEL for the sony head phones
Not free (my usual trick) but only £1.97 after the discount

    I got these too.

They were correctly priced at £7.97 in the section with all the other headphones but were incorrectly priced at £4.97 on a clipstrip nearby.

If you find them on a clipstrip make sure you check the wording on the yellow sel as my label specified 'blue' although there were several different colours hanging on the strip.

I didn't have hm buttered toast this am. But I did have my family's fave:
    Winter Porridge!!!

This time though it was made with buttermilk, mmmmm!
Basically just a huge mug of oats, a teaspoon of ginger & cinnamon a hefty pinch of salt and 2 huge mugs of milk (buttermilk today though!).
Stir a couple of tablespoons of golden syrup in before serving. Yum yum.

Fancy it again now and I've not long had it!

Talk of luxury hotels & steam rooms, yummy porridge I'm getting very jealous, I never make porridge but always have it in the all you can eat breakfast buffets, in fact not much I don't have :o

Woooohoooo, finally caught up! Its only taken me abot 12 hours! lol

Tesco back to full opening hours today so might go and roll over a few stones here and there to see if anything lurks underneath a few! Off for a swim and a sauna first to work off this full english breakfast! Hope you all enjoyed your cornflakes ;)

Oh yes........its bloody lovely here today, dead still with clear blue skies and sunshine. Have the windows flung open! Goooooorgeous! Roll on summer! :)

That reminds me ... I have a couple of 'free' swims courtesy of Schweppes Abbey Well that have to be used before the end of the month. The participating pools are typically municpal pools but also include some hotels which have the usual saunas and steam rooms ... so I'm hoping I can find a couple of 'posh' places and have free spa day ;)

I found this offer on the main board before I found this thread but you never know there maybe some more bottles out there lurking on shelves. If my memory serves me right the bottle was about 50p.

If I can find the cable I'll upload a picture of the bottle later but for those who are interested you're looking for ...

Schweppes Abbey Well - Natural Mineral Water Still - 750ml (b/c 3630) - the label has a white Olympic logo at the top and the words "Free swim with every bottle".

Anyway the details can be found at: www.schwimfree.co.uk

Do goldfish count as cute pet?
I have 2 little orange fish in a filter-less bowl and how they've managed to stay alive I do not know! We were in Belfast for 3.5wks back in October and fully expected to arrive home to a pair of floaters...but they are still here :eek:

Please consider a proper tank with a filter :o
    The size

The maximum length that goldfishes can grow up to, is 23 inches. No doubt that the size is very rare, but most goldfishes can easily grow up to 12 inches. And from what I see, most fish bowls can't even fit a 12 inch goldfish in it.

The size of a fish's home is very important for its growth. Think about it, have you ever seen a fish outgrowing its fish tank? Probably not, as the fish tank's size will determine if the fish will grow up to its potential size. Thus a fish is stunted if its home is too small for it to grow to its potential size.

Not only will you have a smaller fish, a stunted fish is not as healthy too. Definitely something to avoid, if you love your fishes.

"Now, can you imagine yourself inside the fish bowl for twenty-four hours a day, and every direction you look are distorted objects outside the fish bowl?"

    Filtration

Being curved in shape makes usage of most filters impossible. You could only use specially designed filters, sponge filters, or corner box filters. But using a filter means you'll have cables hanging out of the bowl. And unlike a rectangular fish tank, you have no proper way of hiding it.

You might ask, “What if I perform water changes everyday? I won't need a filter!”. Yes, this will keep the water clean. But daily water changes will stress out the fish badly, causing it to be prone to sickness and diseases.

    The shape itself, is evil

Firstly, the opening of the fish bowl is small. This is bad for air exchange, causing less-than-ideal oxygenation of the water. Especially if no filter is used, and there is no water surface disturbance to help oxygenation.

Secondly, the curved shape also causes viewing distortion. If you ever looked at an object inside a fish bowl, you would notice how much larger the object looks, compared to its actual size. The curved shape also causes the object to look distorted. Now, can you imagine yourself inside the fish bowl for twenty-four hours a day, and every direction you look are distorted objects outside the fish bowl? I bet you would feel awfully giddy.

And lastly, because the fish bowl is round, the fishes inside will most likely be exposed at all sides. If you ever kept fishes in rectangular fish tanks, you would notice that scared fishes instinctively hide from frontal view, behind decorations and plants. Having places to hide makes the fishes feel safe, which is something the fish bowl cannot provide. A scared fish is a stressed fish, and a stressed fish then becomes a sick fish.

    Conclusion

Most people may not know how bad fish bowls are. So whenever you see relatives or friends keeping their fishes in fish bowls, educate them why they should stop, or simply show them this article. Your efforts will help save the lives of innocent fishes!
Is a very good wrapper, with a big bunch of keys!!!!;)

I is dyalectic, sorry for spelling grammmmmmmarrrrrrr xx:rotfl::D
