I'm liking the sound of South Korea's policy, maybe I should just hurry up and switch to goodenergy or ecotricty, then at least my money will go towards investing more the government minimum into renewable energy.
you wouldn't believe the words spellchecker changed those two energy providers names to!
but with mobile phones, internet, you pay more the more you use, more minutes, mobile internet you use, unlimited broadband costs more than capped broadband, so the more you use the more you pay.
have I got something wrong there?
Sort of. You do of course pay more when you use more, but the cost for each individual minute or kWh goes down as you buy more. While it's not as such an incentive to use more for the sake of it, it is not encouraging people who do happen to use a lot to use less.0 -

I second ethical superstore, they send everything very quickly, in good condition and have very good money off offers from time to time. Last was 20% off everything and previous was 25% off
I stopped buying from big green smile because the bottles always leaked badly and royal mail and I have had to send photos of the absolute damage to the goods and also to other boxes in the van. This has happened time after time, the goods are poorly packed
Soap nuts are very good as are ecozone eco balls, the laundry washing balls
All our outside lights and the inside shed lights are solar from solarcentre. They are still bright and good after 2 years use
Cooking in a remoska saves a lot of energy, so does cooking in a small table top oven or a pressure cooker
We live in an eco house, just about carbon neutral and very energy efficient so our energy bills are very low but there is still a lot we can do, like the above and also switching things off at the wall0 -

My New Years resolution will be to live more sustainably in terms how wasteful I am and the impact I, and the products I buy and use have on the environment. With this I mean literally any aspect of my life, from the food I eat, the the clothes and gifts I buy, the transport I use... literally everything.
So, I'm looking for a bit of help in pointing to the right shops and online stores that can help me live in a more eco conscious manner. Where I can purchase the right 'earth kind' products from and sources of information and tips that will help me along the way.
Any help would be appreciated.
The problem, that all these eco-friendly products are very expensive as I saw it, more than the same standard products. They help save our environment but not always save our money. If only to find really cheap shop.Read my blog for the best DIY solar panels tips0 -
I used to feel like this but i now have my own online shop full of eco-friendly products and i buy from myself at discount. Not only do eco-friendly items help the Planet but they are also healthier for the people using them because it cuts down the number of potentially harmful chemicals we use and when you stop and think its some cocktail we subject ourselves to on a daily basis. I'm just not prepared to take the risk any more and havin found a way where i can buy them and help others which generates an income which covers my own spend i'm happy. Where theres a will theres a way

Can the MSE members get the same discount as you apply to yourself ? .... If I owned a shop I'd probably be able to afford to buy goods from it too ....
