Text/Phone competitions..Is it worth it?

Hello everyone

I was just wondering if text/phone competitions are worth entering.
I know £1 here £1 there is not much but eventually it will add up and if there are no wins it seems like money had been wasted,don't know.

Just curious if someone has actually won something via text/phone entry.

my mother use to enter dickinson real deal every day via phone, since it started and she never won

I enter it for her now online for free, (fingers crossed) i have seen a few winners from it, that have entered via MSE online.

I can't say about other phone/text comps as i don't enter them, i prefer to enter for free if i'm going to win, i will, down to luck they say...

I'm sure lots have won tho, they will more than likely let you know on here, and good luck hun....

If it can be entered for free, I will ie the ITV comps etc, but some of my best and most valuable wins have come from text/phone/postcard wins as I think on average less people enter them.

I suppose it all comes down to what is the right level of spending for yourself, and I tend not to enter the £1.50 text stuff unless it is a super duper prize, most of my text comps cost about 25p.

Yes i won 5 prizes last year/this year ,netbook,blackberry phone , xbox package worth£400 and 2x toy packages worth £60 each.that was enough to get me hooked on them.i have a cheap tesco phone, that way i keep just for comping, that way i can keep an eye on what i'm spending.i have a monthly limit to spend and i try not to over spend,i know how much i have spent over the year.as long as i make some of it back in winnings i'm happy.good luck

I enter mostly web comps but I've won cash and DVDs from postal comps and Puma trainers from a text comp. I try to limit myself to 2 text comps per month just to keep the costs down and I also buy stamps with my Nectar points so I don't feel too bad about the cost of stamps!

I only enter text comps when there are multiple prizes and have entered around 10 comps all year via text. I won 26 pairs of Cineworld tickets in the summer, a £50 ticketmaster voucher earlier on in the year and a years supply of Merlin theme park tickets.

My total outlay was £10 and the value of prizes was around £1300

I won £200 + on cinema tix - brilliant text comp - I am trying a little experiment at moment - instead of doing the lottery on tuesday and wednesday i am cherry picking best text comps and doing them - i will let you now!!

I only enter text comps for high valued prizes e.g - holidays, ipads, cars.

No luck yet. But, i don't enter them that much tbh.

I had my very first phone win yesterday! A Glee goodie bag which included a karaoke machine, CD, DVD, bathrobe & perfume. I tend to write down the phone entries then forget to do them Postcard comps I have had the most luck with, well, DD2 has. Best of luck to you

Wow some fabulous prizes! Thank you all for your feedback I don't feel so bad about text/phone entries.
I've only started entering via text this month so fingers crossed.
