Im thinking of moving to Inverness/Elgin - advice...

Options
Hi I am hoping to move up Inverness way in the next year, just myself and my son whos 2 and a half. At the moment I live in aberdeen. I havnt really got much info on all the areas but was hoping I could get some on here.

At the moment I stay out in the country, middle of nowhere, nearest vsmall town is 5 mins drive away and Aberdeen is 20 mins drive away. I would be hoping to live on the outskirts of somewhere in a country house, although I am not toally against staying in a village or the town. I do drive so transport not a problem.

I need to think of nurseries and primary schools so any info on this would be great.

My sons dad will still have to see his son every 2nd weekend so I was thinking maybe somewhere around the Elgin area, maybe between Elgin and Inverness or just outside Elgin on the Aberdeen side. Just so its not to far for visits.

Im quite open to area. I would just like an area where im close to schools, supermarket etc, somewhere where my son will enjoy growing up and where theres plenty for him to do.

Any advice about anything would be great. Thanks

Steph

Why do you want to move? Are you looking to rent or buy?

If you are a country quine(?) you may not like Elgin, it is quite large. There are lots of smaller villages along the A96. I would suggest you consider Forres or Buckie, both have good amenities. Any decent estate agent will be able to provide you with details of local facilities as well as properties available.
