wow big winning streak - do you ever feel guilty?

I'm on a massive winning streak, which feels really odd (totally used to wins coming in dribs & drabs). In less than a month I have won an experience worth around £200, another experience worth £329+£100 spending money, an electric shaver, some posh shoes, a cheese plate, a 2 night UK mini break and a £250 cheque.
I sorta feel a bit guilty, not really, it's just odd getting so much in such a short time! Do you ever feel a bit strange and intentionally not tell family/friends because you know they won't get it?

You shouldnt feel guilty!
Congratulations. The thing with comping is you dont know how long a dry spell will last so i think every Comper should enjoy the wins while they last. I personally feel every comper deserves all the wins they get (we all put the hard work in) im currently having a mega dry spell but still love seeing people win. xxxx Ask.. Believe.. Receive..

Not at all, when people say things like 'You're so lucky, I never win anything' I always ask, 'How many competitions do you enter?' The answer is invariably 'None'.

I wouldn't feel guilty, I'd be ecstatic.
My family and friends are quite interested in my comping and am always asking what I've won. (The answer being very little lately.) Possibly because they also get the benefit when I share things or invite them to come along. In fact I've even got my mother comping away of late.:DAll shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -
So long as you're not jumping about shouting "aaah, you didn't win!" at random passers by, you have no reason to feel bad. You won it because you entered and luck(or a really good answer) got you the prize. Just enjoy it while you have it and well done:T2022: £250 clothing voucher. Honeybuns cakes. Headphones. 3mo supply of corn snacks. Christmas jumper. Plantain chips. CBD skincare.
BREAK
2025: Sophie Allport £500, Penelope Chilvers £300, RHS Flower Show tix, BBQ, case of cocktail cans, food hamper!
2026: £500 shopping vouchers!0 -
Wow, well done:T.
I dont feel guilty if I get a winning streak (which doesnt happen too often) because it's a lovely reward for all the hours of effort I put in. I do have one friend who always goes on about me always winning things when I tell her about good wins but she tried comping for about a day and decided it was too much hard work so packed it in! It does sometimes put me off telling her about wins though with the way she moans about how I'm always winning stuf and how she never wins anything!! The rest of my family are always over the moon though.
Let's hope your winning streak continues! :beer:0 -
Don't feel quilty at all. It's all or nothing in comping I find.
No wins at all for a week or 2 and then several wins all at once.
This month has been quite steady for me:
2nd dec CD
2nd dec lego
2nd dec £85 worth of skincare products J
5th dec Nikon Coolpix S3100 Digital Camera in black J
5th dec £5 cash on tombola
10th dec bottle of Malibu
10th dec aunt Bessie oven glove
14th dec makeup item
16th dec bottle of prosecco
18th dec makeup item
19th dec £1000 BIKE J J J
With a fab biggie to finish the year up on :-)
I tell my friends and family all about my wins - they often get items i've won.
The camera I've won this month has gone to my mother in law as an extra crimbo present as I'd just brought a new camera a few days before - typical!
The fab bike win has gone to my dad - who for the last year or so has been waving bike magazines and competitions under my nose with bike related prizes - so I've pretty much been entering to try and win him one. Very happy to have achieved it - but now my family think I can win to order. lol.
I sometimes get a bit of grief on facebook and twitter when I win as I seem to be a quite lucky person - over £27,500 worth of prizes so far this year.
But I've learnt to just ignore it.
Merry Christmas and long may your winning streak continue! Not really comping any more as too ill - but hoping to win £1000+ in 2017 in cash prizes - watch this space!0 -
I don't feel guilty and tell my family, then again I have won a nice amount since I started but the only thing I have kept for myself is the Kindle (after my DS used my birthday one as a frisbee!!) & the shoes I won.
My friends and family have some weird and wonderful gifts for Christmas, things I could never have afforded. Though I do have an aunt who tells me I should stop doing competitions and get out more (but am convinced she is jealous of my wins even though she is well off!). The one thing I do hide is the amount of time I spend entering competitions
Enjoy it while it lasts and don't feel guilty as you put the effort in to get those prizes xxI love this board, have "virtually" met so many lovely people, people I am honoured to count as friends.
