Morrisons chestnuts.

Good price for a good nut.
400gr are £1-40. Well worth it compared to others.

Do you have to cook them and if so, how?

Love the idea of chestnuts at Christmas but don't really like the ones fro street sellers (although they smell delicious). Think it's the texture or the dryness.
  • You can get cooked chestnuts from the Oven Fresh department in all Morrisons stores

<ake a slit in the skin, bung them in moderately hot oven for about 15 mins or until you hear one pop. The skins sould then peel off relatively easily.

I bought some from Tesco the other day. They were awful. We couldn't eat them. Avoid Tesco Chestnuts!

There is only one way to cook chestnuts and thats on an open fire! The smoke adds a lot of taste!Otherwise cut them in half and throw them in the mic! for 40seconds. This will enable easy peeling, time to taste, I prefer mine crisp [30 secs] whereas the wife likes hers soft.
