Tesco price check is a con

All Supermarkets are the same in that they all have their marketing ploys etc. No one supermarket is cheaper than another for everything.
Price check generally works very well, but you have to play the game. If you want to use it to your advantage, check online with Asda for prices before you shop and buy the exact products. Differences in sizes etc will not compare.
Also, split your shopping. Anything that is more expensive in Asda, buy separately so they do not bring your total down, as it is the whole shop that is taken into consideration.0 -
Apologies for reviving this oldish thread but thought I'd just my two pennies worth.
Whilst caring for my elderly mum I've been using a local Tesco Metro and purposefully splitting the shop between more expensive items and cheaper items compared to Asda, over a period of months.
Yup I have a lot of time on my hands these days
I can also report like 'BLUEWKD and 'missconduct' that far more often than not, even on Branded items, Tesco Price Check will come back as N/A when the item is clearly cheaper!

Surely this must me be against the spirit of making such claims as being cheaper than Asda and promising to refund the difference when they are clearly not doing so?
Just as annoying is when they actually concede they are more expensive,Sorry...the printable voucher they email you is always missing a digit compared to the original receipt and then there is the envitable hoo-haa when you get to the till to redeem it!
This time, your shop would have been £*.** cheaper ....
Along with the "Confusion Marketing" techniques Tesco uses, they really do need to be held more accountable and along with the other supermarket chains, closely regulated.0 -
No one is going to hold Tesco or any other supermarket accountable though. The Tesco price check is not working and hasn't been since saturday at least. Nodbody is getting their results or if they are it is saying not found, but it is all kept quiet. Even Tesco FB page is denying there is a problem.Be thankful for what you have because it could all be taken away tomorrow.;)

I agree, it is a complete eyewash. My price check vouchers are not in even after a week and Tesco CS is useless. Not to mention the Price Flop!Mortgage: @ Feb. 2007: £133,200; Apr. 2011: £24,373; May 2011: £175,999; Jun 2013: ~£97K; Mar. 2014 £392,212.73; Dec. 2015: £327,051.77; Mar. 2016: ~£480K; Mar. 2017 £444,445.74

I've just checked and I got the results for a receipt on Sunday (11 am) so it must have been working then at least for me. It might have stopped working afterwards. In any case it is a big con because they price-check reduced to clear items to obviously normally priced ones at ASDA.0
