Rogue clampers jailed

This was on our local news as one of the people clamped lived in Yorkshire. She was visiting her mum in Torquay whilst on a short break from service in Iraq, she was due to fly back the next day. Visited her mum, went to car park to drive to the airport and the car had gone. Car had been parked for less than two hours (the time the sign said you had until it was towed), hadn't even been clamped, but had been towed - £500+ to get it released.
The telling point to this story is this:
"The three admitted the offences following a complex four-year investigation, led by Avon and Somerset Police and involving Bristol City Council's trading standards department."
Four years work for police and TS! No wonder very few police and TS depts are willing to follow any blackmail cases up.0 -
