Advice On PS3 Please

Hi Everyone
Was hoping someone could offer some advice on PS3 please.
I would like to get one for my son but not sure what size to get as I don't really understand how many games can be saved with which ever memory.
I was looking at 160 gb. Could you tell me if this is good or is the 320 gb better?
I missed out on the Sainsburys deal but was really looking at an offer with at least one game included as they seem to be so expensive.
Also is it worth getting extended warranty and if you know of any offfers that are reasonable, I would greatly appreciate it if you could let me know.
Many thanks in advance and Merry Christmas to you all. :j

I don't really know much about playstations, but OH has one which he recently had to replace, so I had to suffer the trauma of him not having one for a couple of weeks......
I think you may have problems getting a 160gb one as I believe (although I could be wrong) that Sony stopped doing them - many shops still have them on their websites, but they seem to be out of stock.
In terms of memory, my OH's first playstation (which broke after about 5 years) had a memory of somthing like 60gb - he managed to store loads on that - hundreds of pics of DS, music, feature films and clips of our DS, and with room to spare, so I think the 160gb should be sufficent (well, it was for OH).
In terms of games, I'm not sure about bundles, but OH did trade in a lot of his old games so maybe you could look at getting a second hand game. To give you an example, OH had bought a couple of games that he didn't like, so they are practically brand new. I know that Game to pre-used games and some can be quite cheap.0 -
Thank you so much chanie. I doubt I would be able to get a good offer now, in time for xmas. saying that, I would most probably have to reck around shops to find one. well I am glad I can get him one with a smaller memory then. My son has some wii and xbox games which he doesn't use, so he can exchange them at Game. Thanks again for being helpful and have a great xmas.0

a 160 will be fine - it is for my boys.
I got a great deal from very not too long ago.It was a bundle which was really pot luck as all the games they wanted just happened to be in the bundle
I got £30 off as a new customer and paid £249 (with discount) for 160gb ps3 with fifa 12, sega games (basically 25 of the old sega games sonic etc) some new call of duty game, a head set, keyboard, special extra controller (dont exactly know what this was but it was a must have or so they told me) HDMI cable for the TV , 2 blu ray dvd's and a microphone
Dont know if they still have the but worth a look , i had a look around and all in all it was a good deal. I am sure if i had hunted many stores and purchased seperately i may have got it slightly cheaper but it was next day delivery and sorted everything out straight away0 -
That's a great deal you got. I will also check Very out. I am with Littlewoods and have saved a bit, so might be lucky and get one similar. Hopefully i will come back on here later with the good news that I found a good deal, to be delivered before Christmas. Thanks brians daughter.0

Also, for games lovefilm do a onthly pat scheme where you can rent the. On groupon a while ago it was reduced to about £8 a month instead of £15 they can watch movies and hire gaes in the monthly fee. They often have offers on so could be cheaper and more flexible than buying gaes they may not play. They also do cheaper gaes and movie packs starting at £11 ish. There is always discount/free trial codes too online
