Gift ideas for Mum (55 years old 15-30 pounds budget)

As the title says really doesn't she have any hobbies or as such, doesn't drink. I'm really struggling

Ideas appreciated.

  • M&S had 50% off beauty stuff online (takes off at the checkout, not sure if it's still on), get some bubble bath or somethin. The 50% means you can be a bit more extravagant.

In similar circumstances I have used l'occitan gift sets from QVC in the past but the prices have just gone up and the pack sizes gone down.
A kind word lasts a minute, a skelped erse is sair for a day.

As someone not far off that age - and a Mum! - I'd love................

    new keyboard
    thick fleece half zip jumper
    croc slippers
    new bike basket
    Cee Lo green CD
Michael Buble CD (NOT the Xmas one!)
    Take That DVD
    Car Valet
Top to Bottom Professional house clean! (I can dream!)
    Posh perfumes
Shower Gels - ones I can't get in ASDA etc
    ITunes voucher
    Amazon voucher
    A beautiful journal

Any of those suitable? If your Mum's like me her Birth Cert says 50 odd, but she still feels 19!

    xx

  • my sons buying me that soap and glory offer from Boots down from £60 to £25
  • Dressing gown?
  • I was going to suggest a dressing gown too as that's what my mum asked for.Next have a huge range and the one I got (which is gorgeous) was £26. If you get one make sure you get a gift receipt as they are usually half price in the sale.

My mum's about that age. I've bought her some anti-ageing cream.

It's not as bad as I make it sound lol, she wants that and always gets it. And she's got other things as well.

    Pjyamas
    Dressing gown
    Slippers
Top/cardigan/jumper (try Next, M&S, Oasis - my mum shops in all those stores and is 58)
Books (my mum likes Phillipa Gregory, Maeve Binchy, Marian Keyes - if you look up books you know she's read on Amazon it brings up suggestions)
    Make up
    Nail polish
    Voucher for beauty treatment
    Perfume
    Bath items
Costume jewellery (maybe match to a favourite item of clothing)
    Socks
    Underwear
    Scented candle
    Hat/scarf/gloves
    Photoframe

I find mums really easy to buy for! remember if you buy clothes you can get a gift receipt so they can exchange if size is wrong.
  • I'm 54 and would love

    Flowers (never get them)
    Jewellery
A good book, or magazine sub
A plant for the garden ( maybe a 'special' rose)
A small hamper ( with small treats, eg favourite biscuits/chocs, toiletries, a magazine, bottle of wine?)

Something that is 'meant' for a younger person ! I am only 54 on the outside!
  • BHS have a really lovely Bayliss and Harding weekend bag filled with smellies which is only £15, my mum has bought that for a few of her friends as someone got her a nice Bayliss and Harding gift set last year. You could also then get her a voucher for her favourite shop or the local cinema or something. That way she has something to open which is substantial and she can treat herself too.
