Proof of benefit certificates required for new job

I've had 3 claims in the last 5 years and my new employers want evidence to cover gaps. They are asking for a JSA certificate which when I rang the JSA line they said it would be posted to me but they couldn't email?? Is this a lie? I hate dealing with these people they are beyond useless.

I had a claim for incapacity benefit too so i called 08456088528 (option 5) and was on hold for 20 mins before my 5 pound credit ran out :mad::mad::mad::mad::mad: I hate dealing with these public sector numpties they are a nightmare.

Is there an email or something I could use? Why is the benefits office still in the 20th century? :(

i imagine they have to send it to your home address they have on file. anyone could phone pretending to be you and give them any old email address.
Birthdays are good for you. Statistics show that the people who have the most live the longest.

  • No it cannot be emailed to you. They have no way of verifying you are who you say you are and there are all kinds of data protection and privacy issues if it goes to the wrong email address.
  • Then why do they bother going through DPA when I phone them? Do they want people to get jobs or what? How do I get through to the incrapacity benefit line?? Is there a best time to call?

Not sure I'd want to help you, to be honest.
