  • The problem with companies such as this is their aim is to make a profit from the debtor.

At the very least, they tend to charge hundreds for something the debtor can easily do themselves for free.

Daughter would be well-advised to get an impartial view from one of the debt charities.

The numbers are at the top of post one in this thread:

  • She should get FREE advice from one of the charities...I used CAB.

Please don't get suckered in by these companies

Gosh yes! Please follow the advice of the previous two posters - It makes me FURIOUS that companies prey on people at their lowest points (ie facing bankruptcy) to make money of their own.

The Bankruptcy should cost her no more than the fee to the Court to submit the petition (although that is a hefty sum in itself these days!).

All other advice and assistance is available free x

Do not let her pay anyone to help her, tell her to do as the others have suggested and seek free and impartial advice.

  • What everyone else has said. Avoid fee charging companies like the plague!
There is a light at the end of the tunnel.....I just need to find the switch.
  • I don't have an issue in paying for something providing the service offered is better than what you can get for free - what can this company do for you that a debt charity in your area cannot?

Also the amount of debt is relatively low - I wonder if she is eligible for a DRO? - see 'sticky' at the top of the board.

    CAB advice is FREE!!!!!!
  • Don't pay for it, I used CAB, couldn't wish for a better service. You'll need to save all the money for the BR fee. Good luck with everything, you'll be fine.
