Shouldn't be this late. Get them to check it hasn't been cashed and re-issue a fresh one.

Because of security checks etc - that can take 6 weeks. If you've had issues with missing post .... ask they issue it direct to your Bank. It will still be a cheque .... but they'll send it direct to your Branch.

I get quite a few of these and what I've noticed is it can take up to 5 weeks after the date on HMR&C's documentation for the cheque to actually turn up. Some of them turn up much quicker, even within a week. For whatever reason I don't think the date HMR&C provide is the actual date the cheque is sent out.

My advice would be to wait another couple of weeks as, as has already been stated, it'll take at least 6 weeks to get a replacement if you cancel the original. Also - Christmas post at the moment means post is coming later.

ours came 3days after the notice of error.
  • notice of error? what is that? im going to phone them and double check its been sent to the right address and if so then ill give it another week or so and if still nothing ask them to issue a new one, i had a refund last year and got the cheque the same day as the P800 just in separate envelopes, heres hoping they can resolve it thank you for all your reply's :)

They always come in seperate envelopes. The security printing of the Payable Orders is 'elsewhere' to the main data sites.

I get an annual refund relating to tax due back on a CITR account - and the cheque always beats the P800. The cheque must be addressed to the same place as the P800 so, if you got that?
