I wonder. Or is it better to go to the shop?

    I suppose its personal choice.
I shop online so that i cannot just pick things up and put them in the trolley, but we do go to the shop a couple of times a month to get a few top ups and check for any bargains. Others do not like online shopping because its getting some one else to do your shopping and you have no say on the produce selected (my mum!) :o

Yes, because you can do a thorough special offer consideration and edit your basket before you pay.

You can do that in the store too!
  • I prefer to shop in store, but I live just a minutes walk from Morrisons and work next door to Tesco.

I pick up a lot of reduced items that I wouldn't get if I shopped online, so it's a lot cheaper for me to visit the store.
  • Going through a store you can't use a cashback site, so online is cheaper (Always check that you can't get a discount in store which would be better than the cashback %)!

    My sanity, yes!

Supermarkets drive me up the wall, so any reason not to have to visit them is good enough for me.

    Depends
I don't drive and a taxi back would cost more than the delivery charge (I do one monthly shop for the heavy stuff) even if I split it into several trips the bus fares would be more than the delivery charge-plus the calculation of what the time spent is worth to me.
    Cashback
Impulse buying risk versus finding a short shelf life reduction
Sanity/Mobility Do you need to drag kids with you? Can you only go when it's busy? Do you have mobility issues?
Ability to check -we've all bought something at the supermarket-got home to discover there's already 3 in the cupboard/freezer. On-line shopping avoids that.
Time to check all the offers and meal plan around them. Not so easy in a busy supermarket with kids moaning .

And trying to work out deals with 2 small fed up children in the trolley is not easy so I think I probably do better online when I can take my time!

Online shopping can save you time,
Especially important perhaps if you were working from home on your computer, you wouldn't have to leave it.

  • i shop regularly on mysupermarket and i love the fact that it saves me money - they show me all the offers from all the online stores.
    that's why i don't have a favourite store - i but the items i want where it's cheapest.
it also saves me a lot of "running the isles" time.
