I know that one manufacturer is Lumie.com (sorry, can't do links). They are in Cambridgeshire. I just had a look at their website. If you look in the sale section, they have a link to a 30 Day Home Trial scheme which might be good if you are not sure which product you need.

    Take care :)

Hi I bought this one a while back as it was so much cheaper than elsewhere.

I haven't used it yet but from turning it on it is very bright and seems good quality, especially considering the price! I see it's out of stock just now though......
    Good luck
  • The most important think is how many Lux the light gives out, as it's the high level of the right kind of light that is needed to combat SAD. After a lot of research I managed to buy mine off eBay. I'll take a look and let you know if it's still available there. If money saving isn't such an issue as getting hold of one quickly, John Lewis normally has a range in stock. The Maplins one sounds OK too, as I recall 10,000 Lux is recommended. :)
A waist is a terrible thing to mind.

Thank you for the replies. I need to look for one that is the magic 10,000.
I will carry on my research. If you manage to locate the one on ebay that would be great.
    Thanks again all

Has anyone found anything with the 10 000 lux? Do the bulbs give the full range?

I rang Lumie direct and had a chat with one of their ladies. I have opted for the Lumie Zip, which isnt 10,000 but reported to be as good as as it is led lights (I think)
Have been using it for a couple of weeks, not 100% sure if I am feeling better but am working on the principle that it wont do me any harm either. They were very helpful at lumie and if I decided I wanted to try a different one that is fine with them to exchange it. I like the fact that this one is 'portable' size so I can have it at work then bring it home easily for the weekends.
    Hope this helps someone
