A guy I work with does a "happy dance" every time house prices rise - him and his wife live in a nice 4 bed and rent out 2 other dives to some young renters.

What kind of dance? The Waltz, a Samba or maybe a Jig? Who knows what they'll be doing next year? A little pogoing or some headbanging, please do let us know. As the Year draws to a close, this must be one of the most interesting threads I've read

Not sure what the problem is. He's got three assets and is obviously going to be pleased if they increase in value. Plus, he doesn't need to worry about his children if prices rise.
BTW you must be a very observant person, because he wouldn't have been dancing much at all this year, unless he's using Mr Ree's "round my way BS" index.0 -
I should think there's a perfect 4r$e-shaped depression entrenched in his armchair.1. The house price crash will begin.
2. There will be a dead cat bounce.
3. The second leg down will commence.
4. I will buy your house for a song.0 -
