My boyfriend has some work again at the moment, being a self employed builder, so he has asked for my wish list which is, a card, an Indian takeaway (something we used to do all the time but which is now for special ocassions), flowers -I'm thinking a bunch of irises from the local shop- and a bottle of fizzy wine.

Whilst this isn't mega demanding, I guess it'll be £30, and worth every penny of it.

Going away isn't an option because he's working but I have something planned for his birthday, which is only a month or so away.

We'll have dinner & drinks out the weekend before, thereby avoiding getting ripped off by stupid Valentine's Day set menus. Then I am planning an epic 3-course feast with champagne and cocktails at home on the day itself.

I don't do Valentine's Day, neither do most of my friends - there's another 364 days in the year to go out for dinner... I also hate to get flowers or chocolates just because it's Valentine's Day - can't see the point really. Some of my friends usually go and have a browse round Ikea that evening apparently it's bliss because it's just deserted :rotfl:

We never do anything for valentines either. We go out for dinner, have flowers, chocs etc in the other 364 days.

We celebrate our love on our terms and not on what it's dictated to us.
