    Thanks for your help
What i actually meant was losing 22% of a full time wage for the sake of earning £30 per week in a part time job a bit pointless. I know i would get the excess tax back eventually, but on a tight budget that is the difference between drowning and waving
:j Baby bonce was born on Christmas morning after a ridiculously short labour and no pain relief! If only losing the baby weight was as easy!:T

when you get your full time job, just call the tax office and get them to switch your tax code (allowance) to your main job and have your little job fully taxed, or ask them to split it, and have some tax taken off each.
    TOP MONEYSAVING TIP

Make your own Pot Noodles using a flower pot, sawdust and some old shoe laces. Pour in boiling water, stir then allow to stand for two minutes before taking one mouthful, and throwing away. Just like the real thing!

When you start a new/main job, as you will not have a P45, you will get a P46 to complete.
There is a choice of boxes to tick.
If you tick that this is your only or main job, you should get your allowances on an emergency basis, for each week only.
Contact your existing tax office and ask for your part time job to be taxed at Basic Rate (week 1/ month 1) as you have a new/main job.
If you advise new tax office of your untaxed earnings from 6th April, they should be able to adjust your code so you can get the unused tax allowances against your newob.

hi there, does anyone know how to work out what i would get taxed on a second job? is there a calculator on the net somewhere? ta :)

You may get a tax deduction for tips at your main code, especially if this new job is bar work.
