Hi there, I've been trying to get round to finding my way back to this thread to provide a bit of feedback! I have done really well on this Diet freedom 'non diet', and husband is in really good shape with a really happy doctor (about his diabetes)! I am still a member on the website, and they have launched a new site which is great with tons more stuff, a massive health library etc (a haven for the hypochondriac in me :rotfl:and husband can be found poking about the special 'mens health' section or pointing me at the PMS page in the womens bit - cheeky ***!) and a lot more functional stuff like meal planners, shopping lists, personalisation and experts - and great recipes, especially for us who don't like to spend too long fiddling about in the kitchen!
Anyway, I just find it all a lot more real and practical than all the hard sell 'diet' sites - too many of which I have tried and failed with! If you want to check it out do use the discount code that came in a sales email a couple of days ago - a 25% discount (you join for 3 months so you're ahead of the curve when it comes to post-Xmas dieting LOL). I've pasted in details below direct from the email - note expiry date.
One other thing - if you know what you should be doing food-wise but find it really hard to put it into practice then check out Emotional freedom technique or EFT, it has helped me completely stop some very distructive food associations and the comfort eating I was battling with. And my husband was interested enough to ask to try it too - I wasnt allowed details but he's a lot more chilled out now, and for both of us mealtimes are no longer a time of tension! Oh and believe me, we were both very cynical about it at the start - no longer!
ANyway - search EFT online, you'll find loads of free information. I had a go doing it on myself as you can find loads of info on how to do it, but I have found that a few sessions with a practitioner is much faster and helps focus on the real issues (not always immediately obvious!) and I'm now carrying it on myself. I think working from the free stuff will be great if you are motivated and good at honestly looking at yourself. I am a bit of an ostrich so needed that interaction! There are two practitioners who do telephone consults on the Diet Freedom site and I booked in with the lady, Carey and my husband spoke to Iain - both are really lovely and really effective! The price was competitive (especially with member discount) and I have a good level of trust in the site and their recommendations after all this time.
Hope this is useful to some, especially after Christmas feasting teeheee. And thanks Martin for the original intro - it turned out to be a goodie for us and that's really appreciated.
x Claire

Thanks Claire. Your mention of EFT has really sold. me on this site. I went to an EFT workshop a few years ago and found it very effective, I think it's great that they're using it. I'm definitely going to give it a try.
Thanks again0 -
Hi Kingfisher, I have to say that EFT is an amazing thing. I really had problems with emotional eating (and a couple of other little wrinkles) and this was made worse by some recent sad losses in my family. I have loved working with Carey from at Dietfreedom, she is so emphathic and really helps focus on the problems, and unearths stuff you never had connected, and then it is dealt with. It also really helped my come to terms with some of the grief I have been weighing myself down with, which is a huge relief because I was feeling very guilty about even thinking about letting go if it. We're a funny lot us humans!
The OH really enjoyed his chats with Iain too, he was also very swift to get to the roots of problems, and really practical and yet gentle apparently.
Go for it, I could get positively evangelical about EFT!

PS since starting with Iain and Carey we've lost 3.8 stone between us! OH has lost 2 and I've lost 1.8. Great result! x£3k back from Natwest:beer:, approx 29% saved on major debts due to Martin's tarting advice and LOTS more (inc weight loss too! ... I think I've got a proper full on moneysaving tip for y'all!
We kinda relaxed the belts a bit over Christmas and tho not put on more than a couple of pounds, we need to kickstart again after the great results of last year.
So Hub and me are still with the whole Dietfreedom plan, but we had not really really made the effort since January started and we all sank into the sofa to escape the winter gloominess :rotfl:
Anyway my proper Moneysaving news is that www.dietfreedom.co.uk are running a 3 month diet trial, which has been the real kick up the woohoo that we need and they are offering 50% discount!! to anyone who wants to take part. The code is diet50. That means price is £14.85 not £29.70 for 3 months.
It starts on 4th Feb (or that's when we're starting) so i dunno how long the code will last for. Get in there if you want some real assistance and real results at half price. For us it works at full price but gee, always up for a bargain! :T:T:T:T:T
It's not all frivolity though, this is a proper trial, being run with one of their experts who is an NHS dietician as he is keen apparently to get this service offered as an option in the NHS! We have a form to fill in - which is pretty easy as it's just a tally of weight lost and a few questions, and this gets mailed back to them in 3 months time.
We can totally recommend the whole service they offer as I already may have said! We have found the combination of online support at anytime, plus the whole 'getting your head in the right place first' approach, followed by really easy to follow advice and real nice food (to me the most important thing as I am areal keen cook) works perfectly for us.
Our 3.8 stone tally in December has not gone up much, but actually yknow we only put on a couple of pounds (not stone this year!!) each over Christmas and those didn't stick around long. We have a few more stone between us to go. Long may we continue to shed pounds there and save pounds here oh har har har :rotfl:
See you there!

I can't sign up with the free trial. I put the code into the box and click "apply code" but the balance stays at 29.70, if I continue it takes me to the Visa payment page. What am I doing wrong?:smileyhea "here, hare, here" :smileyhea0

Hey Angel, I just gave it a try and it worked so I don't know why, I have dropped an email into the helpdesk to ask if there is any reason. I just put in diet50 and hit apply and it all worked fine. Hopefully someone from the site will come backta you, they are pretty helpful!

I emailed the site and they said the system lets them know when people have tried to join and they email them to see if there was a problem and if they can help, so hopin y'all got emails?
